Since XC season is over, it was time to get the Thanksgiving Day race in. My right knee has been a mess and training has been slow and infrequent. Still managed to run the sunny 5 miles from the Salem Common and finish in front of PEM – Peabody Essex Museum. Not all is bad. I ran the first 2.5 miles with Krissy and Kelly as we were running about 10 minute miles. Krissy fell back approaching Juniper Point. Kelly fell back as I ran out of Salem Willows.
I did not pass many from there to the finish. I saw John Ayers running against the race so I yelled out to him. He turned around and ran ¾ of a mile with me and dropped me off at the Salem Common where I had about a half mile left. I finished in 925th place out of 1603 finishers, 47 out of 68 in the 50-54 age group. 49:04 chip time, 9:48.8. The run did not feel great, but did not feel terrible. Just going to take it one day at a time going forward and have PT scheduled in December.
